Which can go so far as to explain the lack of updates recently! Whats been happening? lukey P won the highest bunny hop comp at the MT Hawk Jam, well done mate. I think pound for pound we have the best team in the UK for hop skills? I think we could simply win it with Newrick actually, who once beet the entire Giant MTB team when they once ventured north to show off their skills, how unfortunate that a tall kid with pineapple dreads pissed on their bonfire in front of a crowd. Well done James. Ricky Feather is now in New York, sessioning Brooklyn Banks, looking for places that sell cups of tea and saying "eyup" when he walks into stores. James Cox is back in action after his voyage to the colonies! He will be working on this site now for a while and getting some stuff done for the cause. I've recently seen secret footage of James for a secret web video for an undisclosed shoe brand and there's alot of peg work in there, hanging out with the top bikers has been paying off I think. Faz has moved to Portsmouth from Fareham, not heard much from him, I suppose he's going through that internet connection stage when you first move into a property, inevitably he will be shredding to the pompey chimes. So more BMX, footy, filming and general messing about for us while the sun is out. More soon.

How do sorry for the lack of updates recently!! Okdoky, we have a new distro in Australia check their site here www.uberdistro.com with that they were kind enough to hook up a local ripper called Matt Lawton, we'l fire a bunch of pics up here with a bike check this week, the guy is cool and he kills it, infact word has it he's producing a little web video for the site right now, stoked...
In other news we have a stack of stuff ready for the site but we have had (as the last post) some problems with the site, well logging into our server and various problems like that, fuck knows whats up with these geeks, everything is ironed out now though after some weirdo actually called my mobile in the middle of the night to explain how incompetent they are... amatures. Cox is going back to the colonies again, this time OZ... nice, Feather has jacked his welding job in and is looking to hit NYC with his missus Kayti P.. Bike checks have come in from the team, will we ever put them on.. doubt it, I'm in Whitby at the weekend GET IN... more soon, honest.

Yo, so yeh as you can see the site is sorted. Sorry about that, a couple of gremlins in the system, there. Ghosts in the machine. It's been pretty quiet, James is back from the colonies and working on his many media projects as per, we'l be updating Newrick's team page too now he's back. I've been riding with Feather, Fly Paul and FatHead (3 F's) abit over the last week, filming some stuff on the old VX1 and what av ya! We really do have some bike checks for the site and we will get them online asap, keep posted....

I'm sure most people know now Mikey Aitken went down hard a week or so ago, here's how you can help out him and his family.

Mikey is another PRO who just can't get the insurance, firms won't touch dudes like him for medical care and it sucks so bad. There clearly needs to be a BMX insurance firm, not just medical stuff but travel/bike/camera gear. I'm sure if the industry can sit down and work out the best universal bottom bracket to have, we can organize some kind of welfare for our family. Needless to say the community always comes through in times like this, and thats why I love it. Get well soon Mikey....

Photographer Self Portrait Rant

First things first in this epic rant, this is NOTHING PERSONAL to anyone, even the people featured in the photo's I've used to emphasise my point, so before you start thinking I'm some kind of mental nazi, get a grip of your self.
So, I've been in the BMX game a few years now, even posed for a few dodgy pics myself. BMX attracts various other forms of creativity though as we know, I'm into that, photography, video stuff graphic design, good positive stuff. But at what point did I miss the "photographer self portrait in mirror holding camera equipment" scene? (which I suppose is not just within the BMX community, but I see it alot in BMX via myspace and the like)
Whats with that, is it part of the photography course at Uni, take a portrait of your self with your equipment?
It's sour, pretentious and a blatant medium to show off equipment and side parted hair in one go! I meen why would you want to show off your camera, it's a tool! The equivalent would be a plumber stood in the fucking mirror with his bib and brace overalls and a wrench. Pointless. Huge massive camera's filling the mirror with some dweeb behind it, why would you need such a huge camera for the pic? point and shoot would do the trick, it's like me driving to Netto in an Aston Martin DB6 totally pointless and pretentious.
I heard that dudes who show off their camera equipment are sub consciously trying to hide the fact they have a small penis. Whatever with that fact, because I know a photographer called Nathan Beddows and he has THE largest penis in BMX. So it's up in the air really, pics like this need sorting out as soon as possible, the only people who care about what equipment you are using are the ones who are shit at using the stuff, all the gear no idea scene.
I suppose this stuff sort of falls into my earlier I-Phone rants, I'm down with people earning a crust and buying what they want, if they are into technology/drugs/cars then fair enough, but don't try 1. showing it of while 2. showing your self off, it don't make you look better because your holding an expensive camera it actually makes you look desperate for intercourse and long term companionship. Sort it out.

I often get sick of BMX web vids, some are really decent but alot or shit or totally pointless, like a 30 sec web video for a company, 10 seconds either side is taken up with graphics and logo's then a few seconds riding in the middle, containing a couple of clips! Some of the clips are really good, but I just don't see the point of making the video, it feels like a waste of time for everybody involved. Keep the clips, make a longer video, whatever.... It seems people rush like fuck to just get online with stuff!
Skavenger have just released this promo! for me, this is exactly what a web video should be, pure entertainment. I can't ever knock what these lads do, it's always so fuckin' sick.

Me and the old man
So I nipped upto my mam n dad's today for a pot of tea and to help out with his new gate he's constructed from a used pallet, all went well and we retired inside the house for a spot of dinner. We got onto the subject of "bleedin' firms who have not paid you enough in wages". Here's my dad's tale, as he told it...

When I first moved over to fuckin' Morley back in the late 60's, first job I got was in a fuckin' truck yard. Anyhow, first week was good, thought "fuckin' got feet under the table ere you know" decent job. Then the 2 gaffa's came round Friday with the wages like, one of em gives me my packet so I opened it up to give it a count and noticed it was short. So I pulled the gaffa...
"ere fella, my wages are short here"
"yeh I know, we have had to make some cut backs" he said
"well you aint made any fuckin' cut backs in hours av yer, make a noise like the rest of my packet"
"sorry pal, thats your lot we have had to make cut backs"
Then the other gaffa came over and stood next to him, "yeh, that's your wages lad" he said.
"when I got this job, we agreed the wages and your short, so fucking sort it out sharpish!"
"I don't think so, if you don't like it fuck off" the second gaffa said.
"FUCK OFF, FUCK OFF....you cheeky cunt, you have 10 seconds to sort this wage packet out or I get in that 40 tonner and smash it into every fuckin truck you have in this yard" There was about 20 trucks all parked up in this yard you know.

I left my ball at training Wednesday night, so took the dogs ball which is one of those free ones you got from Mars this summer, banged some PSI in there. Khan Chinned and Punditry Rant

I was listening to the Amir Khan fight last night on 5live, all his fights used to be on ITV then he went for the big bucks at Setanta so it was his first pay per view fight. Also he's got a new trainer. This is a classic example of British celebrity gone wrong! Hyped up, marketed, squeeze as much money out of the kid as possible, then his first ever fight with a serious hitter and he's down within 30 seconds, incredible really. I'm not saying Khan isn't a sick boxer, because he is, but it's just ashame he was turned into some superstar, when in reality he's just a regular boxer, for me Joe Calzaghe should be the super star, he is world class.

Andorra 0 England 2, the first half of the match was a serious washout! Still no chemistry or confidence at all in the squad, another example of players at a celebrity status not really fulfilling their role for the country! I do think they get a hard time from the press and the fans, especially when that fucking band continually play the Great Escape theme at every England game, nightmare, but I also feel they have no passion or pride, I honestly believe there's a generation of people in the UK in general who have no pride in their country (maybe the Scots aside), I think it's sort of frowned upon to fly the flag, for what ever atrocities Britain has caused in the past. Well it's not our generations fault is it!! we wern't there, so fly the flag it doesn't belong to the BNP it belongs to us. The GB Olympic team are a classic example of how to win for your country, they have over come all the liberal bull shit to focus on winning for themselfs and the country, so England and a team should too, other wise we aint getting anywhere competition wise in the next 10 years. Now then now then, yeh once again a week off or so! I've been upto my tits in decorating/riding/footy.. The new season has started and it's going OK for Leeds! Buzzin off that, I was looking for a particular sketch from Mitchell and Webb, it's the football one. I remember it because I like to listen to football phone in's and what av yer and fans often say things like "we beat you 2-0 on Saturday" as much as I am a fan I always found it abit weird that alot of fans say "we" when talking about the team they support, as if they were on the pitch playing. Good work to Spain sinking the crouts in the final, all well and good Spain winning but I'm now lost as to what to do with myself now Euro 08 has finished! I've even been riding almost daily! Clearly in no mans land right now.

Anyhow, here's my "man of the contest" Spain's Sergio Ramos, yeh he's not featured in my global squad (neither is Andre Arshavin, I'd seriously consider him on the subs bench right now) but his work rate has been the best ever in Euro 08, I've never seen a defender spend more time in his oppositions box than big Ramo' and he looks like something from Lord of the Rings bonus points for that.

Right, so most know my fondness of the legendary Adidas samba shoe, technically THE best item of footwear ever invented. I wear my old set for work, pictured above with paint splatters on. Anyhow, to the point. The other day I nipped down to the bank, upon leaving the bank a gent walks past me, nothing unusual there! Until I leave the precinct to discover he'd doubled back on him self and following me! Or is he! Maybe he had forgotten something and had to nip back to where he'd originally been. However I looked behind me another couple of times before reaching the car park where I'd parked the motor and he was defs following me. My mind started racing, he's seen me come out of the bank, maybe he thinks I'm packing abit of dosh! and fancies his chances at mugging me, not to worry I know he's there so I'm prepped. I get to the motor he was about 4 or 5 steps behind me, I put the keys into the door and whip around to find him stood there..
"what the fuck do you want?" I said..
"ohh nowt mate, errrm.. can I ask where you got your shoes from?"
"Yeh, Wyndsors, it's right there, £30 quid" *points to Wyndsors world of shoe's which is adjacent to the car park*

Serious, thats what happend! After I had a think about it, I found an appreciation for that blokes sense of style, and figured out I'm clearly a trend setter even in work clothes. So mad respect, I was hostile at the time because I figured it was going to be a mugging attempt. Later on I also thought, ok he may have been into my shoes in a style sense, but what if he was one of those blokes who wanks off with other gents shoes on his face and stuff, because mine stink and they would be heaven for a bloke who's into that sort of caper! Worrying, but I'll go with the first thought eh.

Euro 2008 Go Dutch

Check these beasts! Not available in stores yet, a few of the Dutch international players were asked to come up with a sick Nike boot colour way and they chose brown leather with light blue sole! (light blue is the colour of socks they rock when in the orange strip!). Alot of players from other countries are also repping them too. These are Van Nistleroys and he has his kids names whacked on there for good measure. These will no doubt be in production and ready for sale at the start of the season, they do a couple of other boot models too but these look the best. GO DUTCH in 2008.
